Pat Metheny är inom jazzens alla ramar en av de riktigt stora. Han har vunnit 20 Grammys och har spelat med både Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman och David Bowie bara för att nämna några. Under fyra årtionden som aktiv har han släppt oräkneliga album som trotsar det mesta inom fusion, post-bop, ethnojazz etc.

Tre år i rad blev Pat Metheny framröstad som ”Guitarist of the Year” i Downbeat Magazine. Han har även fått The Miles Davis Award på den anrika Montreal International Jazz Festival.
